Montaje de la silla gaming Trust GXT 705 Ryon^{(Ryon gaming)}

Desembalar y montar la silla gaming Trust GXT 705 Ryon puede ser una experiencia agradable. Dentro del paquete obtienes todo lo que necesitas para armar la silla tú mismo. Sin embargo, el manual del usuario tiene un error que puede confundirlo y es posible que el ensamblaje no se realice correctamente en su primer intento.^{(Unboxing and assembling the Trust GXT 705 Ryon gaming chair can be a pleasant experience. Inside the package you get everything you need to assemble the chair by yourself. However, the user manual has one mistake that may confuse you, and the assembly might not succeed on your first try.)}

Verdict

When you mention the term «gaming chair», you expect a chair that is highly customizable, with both lumbar and neck cushions, that makes it easy to maintain a healthy position while playing or working on your computer. Even though they are named gaming chairs, the GXT 705 Ryon and GXT 702 Ryon Junior, do not have these features. The features that are truly related to gaming are their looks, their colors, and the leather used to manufacture them. However, their pricing is very affordable, perfect for people on a budget. If you want a chair for your desk, that is more comfortable than standard office chairs, then Trust GXT 705 Ryon and GXT 702 Ryon Junior are a good choice that is going to satisfy your expectations. The idea of creating similar chairs for both children and adults is fun for families with children, especially when they want to create a gaming experience that bonds parents with their kids. However, for real gaming chairs, with all the adjustability and healthy benefits that they have to offer, you should consider more expensive models, like the Trust GXT 707 Resto.

Assembling the Trust GXT 705 Ryon gaming chair

Trust GXT 705 Ryon comes in a simple cardboard box, with no flashy branding elements.

Inside the box, you find the components that make up the chair, the user manual showing you how to assemble it, and all the screws and accessories you need for assembly.

One very important piece is the user manual, which shows you the steps of the assembly process. However, the manual has one mistake: it says that it has eight screws of type I (short screws), and four of type J (long screws).

In reality they are the other way around: there are eight long screws and four short ones. Also, when assembling the chair, you should use the screws marked with the letter J for steps where you see the manual mentioning the letter I, and the other way around. Otherwise, the assembly process is going to become problematic.

The assembly process is not that difficult, and you can perform it by yourself, using only the accessories found in the packaging. First, you start with the five wheels of the chair. Those are really easy to assemble on the wheel base, which is made of strong plastic materials.

Next, you mount the bottom plate that you use to adjust the position of the seat, using the short screws mentioned earlier. During this process, you may notice that the chair has a strong wooden frame, that should endure even heavier users.

The best next step is to mount the armrests to the backrest of the seat. The manual doesn’t make this very clear. If you try to mount them on the bottom cushion of the seat, before attaching them to the backrest, the process is going to take longer, and it is going to be frustrating.

Attaching the bottom cushion is next. Now you see the chair taking form, and it looks quite nice.

Finally, add the wheel base to the chair, and the silver plugs into the holes where you have added the screws, so that the chair looks good.

Unboxing and assembling the Trust GXT 705 Ryon gaming chair can be a pleasant experience. Inside the package you get everything you need to assemble the chair by yourself. However, the user manual has one mistake that may confuse you, and the assembly might not succeed on your first try.

Alongside the chair for adults, we also received for testing the Trust GXT 702 Ryon Junior gaming chair. However, the chair was sent to us already assembled, and without its standard packaging. Therefore, we cannot give you details about the assembly process, which you can find described in the picture below.

Design and specifications

Even though they are siblings, the Trust GXT 705 Ryon and GXT 702 Ryon Junior chairs, are different in some key aspects, not just their size. First of all, the Trust GXT 705 Ryon is black with five different color accents on the sides: red, blue, white, black, and pink. The colors are diverse enough to appeal to both men and women, which is a nice touch.

The Trust GXT 702 Ryon Junior is available only in one color, like in the picture below. The design makes you think about racing, that tends to be more appealing to boys than girls.

Another difference is that, on the big chair, the armrests are equipped with cushions so your arms can rest comfortably, while on the junior chair, they are made of plain plastic.

The chair for adults allows users to adjust both the height, and the angle of the backrest, while the chair for juniors only allows them to adjust the height of the chair. However, the junior chair compensates by having a metal plate that sustains the backrest, which should make it more durable.

The gas lift class is also different, because the two chairs do not need to support the same weight and user size: Trust GXT 705 Ryon Junior has a class 3 gas lift, while Trust GXT 705 Ryon has a class 4 gas lift, more suitable for adults. Also, the maximum weight differs a lot: the junior chair can support a person of maximum 176 pounds or 80 kg, while the adult chair can support a person of up to 330 pounds or 150 kg.

Both chairs use artificial leather, but the adult chair also has a lot of high density foam inside its cushions, while the junior chair has a lot less, making it less comfortable to use for long hours.

If you want more details about the technical specifications of both chairs, we recommend going to these pages:

Using the Trust GXT 705 Ryon and GXT 702 Ryon Junior gaming chairs

Since I am an adult, and I weigh quite a lot, I could only test the chair for adults: Trust GXT 705 Ryon. One of the features that I instantly liked are the armrests equipped with cushions. Also, the bottom of the chair feels soft and comfy when you sit on it. So does the backrest. The high-density foam covered with artificial leather is perfect during the cold season, the spring and autumn. However, during the summer, you are going to sweat a lot while sitting on this chair. The ventilation on the backrest helps a bit, but, even so, you are going to need a towel when using it during hot summer days.

Since this is an affordable chair, there are some tradeoffs when compared to more expensive models: you cannot raise and lower the armrests individually, and the backrest cannot hold your back straight, even though you can tilt it to some degree. I also noticed a bit of a wobble: when you move on the chair, the bottom of the chair tilts, even though it is set into the locked position. This wobble does not happen on more expensive chairs, like the Trust GXT 707 Resto, and it does not happen on the GXT 702 Ryon Junior chair either.

We asked an 11-year-old to use the Trust GXT 702 Ryon Junior gaming chair for a few days, and he gave us this feedback about it:

«I like that the cushions are soft, even though the ones of the big chair are even softer.»

«I like the hole on the backrest. I use it to move the chair where I want, and it’s like the air goes through it, and I don’t sweat so much on my back.»

«I like that I can move it around how I wish, without having to get up. It’s fun to move around the room in my chair.»

«What I don’t like about the chair is that it is a bit small. I am tall now, and it is best for children that are three years smaller than me.»

While studying him as a spectator, I noticed that the sweating during hot summer days remains a problem for the GXT 702 Ryon Junior chair too, due to the same artificial leather being used as on the chair for adults. However, during cooler seasons, it should be a pleasure to use for all children.
